The ocean, a wonderful playground for all the family

Shellfish gathering is a popular activity for all ages, with something for everyone... mussels, oysters, cockles, prawns, crab... (Check the times of the tides before leaving).

Come and discover the eight fish sluices that still exist on the shores of St. Marie.

Camping St Marie de Ré - Activités Pêche à pied

The watersports centres organize about 14 regattas between June and August, with 150 boats that you can admire with your family.

In the Atlantic Ocean you can enjoy a variety of water sports: windsurfing, sailing optimists or catamarans, kayaks, surfing, kitesurfing, and paddle boarding.

You can also explore the Ile d'Aix, a small island between Ile de Re and Ile d'Oleron.

Discovering the secrets of the island

On foot or by bike, enjoy the varied landscapes between the sea and the salt marshes, and travel through the vineyards (65 hectares!). Discover the island's secrets, with its wild beaches, and unspoilt landscapes.

Fancy a ride in a horse drawn carriage or a donkey ride? Discover Saint-Martin in a whole new way! Kids will enjoy a trip down to the ramparts for a donkey ride on one of the Ile de Ré's donkeys dressed in culottes.

A whole range of delicious produce can be found among the island's market stalls. At la Flotte, Rivedoux, and Sainte-Marie, markets are held every morning throughout the year. Culture and heritage on the Ile de Ré!

The Ile de Ré has ten villages each as beautiful as the next.
Discover the Vauban fortifications (classed world heritage by UNESCO), visit the ramparts of Saint-Martin-de-Ré, the ruins of Abbey Châteliers, the Fort de la Prée, the steeple of Ars-en-Ré. And don't miss the chance to visit the Phare de la Baleine, a lighthouse that is typical and emblematic of the island.
